My teaching philosophy:

I believe the main role of a teacher is to help students realize their potential. Working at St. John's School on Guam has had a great impact on my philosophy of teaching and my beliefs about student learning. I feel the adherence to high standards is the reason why our students consistently perform above the norm. I believe that students by nature are curious and want to please. With the proper direction, students can achieve much more than they are aware of. Keeping these points in mind, I try to instruct my students through an inquisitive approach. Throughout the math curriculum, students learn that there is a connectedness to all math ideas. My role is to lead students through these ideas and to keep setting the bar higher.

It is my hope that with technology resources I can become more effective as a teacher and prepare my students with the skills they need in the future. With the assistance of the National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers, I hope to accomplish this and develop my professionalism.
