Synopsis:

This standards area provides for the fact that one must have a basic understanding of technology resources in order to employ them. To use technology effectively in their instruction, teachers must be competent with those tools and methods. If a teacher needs further assistance then he or she should be aware of the support materials available. This aide can come in the form of an online resource or an on-site technology resource person.

In addition, one must recognize that technology does not stand still. It is constantly expanding and evolving and so, to remain capable, additional growth and development must be pursued. There is an abundance of online resources available for professional development as well as the traditional means.
