Synopsis:

One of the most exciting aspects of modern technology for educators is that it encourages professional development and collaboration. This NETS*T standards area not only promotes these features; they are included as a necessity.

To maintain an understanding of instructional technology, one must enlist outside training or resources for assistance. Technology will not stand still and so teachers should stay abreast of current knowledge and revitalize their training consistently. Professional development is available in many forms online to assist in perpetual learning.

Resourceful teachers will meet the needs of their students with greater ease if they are proficient with instructive technology. This includes evaluating methods and tools for their usefulness, and knowing where to find assistance. Modern technology now allows for a greater breadth of collaboration among one's peers worldwide.
